This was Dolly's biggest tour for 2 decades and most ambitious. It featured a couple of songs which were supposed to feature on Blue Smoke, the CD which ended up being scrapped in favour of Those Were The Days. We still have yet to see a release for I Dream a Lot About Elvis and Blue Smoke.

Tour Notes: The songs off For God and Country were swapped around quite a bit during this tour. Dolly performed the early shows with a dummy of Kenny Rogers when she sang Islands in the Stream, but later it was dropped. Brand New Key and Shine were only added late on in the tour, with the former having last been sung on her 1976 TV show. Throughout this tour, there was some controversy caused regarding Dolly lipsyncing several songs. Many reviewers and fans complained about this, with the National Enquirer also reporting on it too. One song that was definitely sung live was Little Sparrow, which was done accapella. Virtually everyone was unanimous that it was the highlight of her show.
Shorter shows were played at the casino venues.
Overall the tour was a success, it was certainly fantastically well rehearsed and choreographed. The criticisms apart from the lipsyncing, were that several venues failed to sell out, which many fans attributed to high ticket prices and poor promotion.
